BRAZIL'S FEMINIST SPRING

In the months preceding the 2016 Olympics in Rio, the country was racked by protests. Women from across Brazil descended on the streets to protest both the coup of the country's first female president by her conservative Vice President, Michel Temer, and the horrific gang rape of a 16-year-old girl that was broadcast across social media.
I met with activists on the ground to find out why this particular confluence of events sparked what is known as Brazil's 'Feminist Spring.'
